Pediatric Emergency Dentist in Wichita Falls: Prompt Care for Your Child's Dental Emergencies

At Dentistry 4 Kidz, we provide specialized emergency dental care in Wichita Falls designed specifically for children’s urgent oral health needs. As a board-certified pediatric dentist and Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, Dr. Divya Iyer brings over 15 years of experience to deliver prompt, compassionate care during dental emergencies. Since 2014, we’ve been a trusted part of the Wichita Falls community, focusing on minimal interventions while ensuring children receive the immediate attention they need when dental emergencies arise.

What Constitutes a Pediatric Dental Emergency?

Dental emergencies for children can range from sudden, severe toothaches to traumatic injuries affecting the teeth or gums. Common pediatric dental emergencies include knocked-out teeth, cracked or fractured teeth, severe tooth pain, lost fillings or dental crowns, dental abscesses, and soft tissue injuries to the lips, gums, or tongue. As specialists who exclusively cater to children from 6 months to 18 years, we understand that young patients require a different approach to emergency dental care that addresses both their physical and emotional needs during stressful situations.

Dr. Iyer’s philosophy of minimal intervention guides our emergency treatment protocols, ensuring we provide necessary care while preserving as much natural tooth structure as possible. Our focus remains on creating positive experiences even during emergency visits, helping children maintain confidence in dental care despite challenging circumstances.

Pediatric Dental Emergencies FAQ's

We’re here to help with our most frequently asked questions about pediatric dentistry.

Any situation involving severe pain, bleeding, trauma to the teeth or mouth, or a tooth that has been knocked out requires immediate attention. If you're uncertain, call our office at (940) 691-5027, and our team will help determine the urgency of your child's situation and provide appropriate guidance. We'd rather you call with concerns than delay potentially important treatment.
While we don't typically replant knocked-out baby teeth, it's still important to see Dr. Iyer promptly. She can assess whether there's damage to surrounding tissues or the developing permanent tooth beneath. Space maintainers might be recommended depending on your child's age and dental development to preserve proper spacing for permanent teeth.
Most dental insurance plans, including Medicaid, provide coverage for emergency dental treatment. At Dentistry 4 Kidz, we accept most major insurance plans including Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Delta Dental, and importantly—we welcome Medicaid patients for emergency services. Our staff can help verify your coverage and explain any potential out-of-pocket costs for emergency treatment.
